Sophia is the Founder and Head of Strategic Relations of backCODE, leading their public and community relations. backCODE is a Los Angeles based game studio founded in 2009 which develops serious games for Fortune 500 companies.
She is a strong advocate and mentor of girls and women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). She is one of the organizers and a board member of Innovate Pasadena, the effort to grow a significant startup ecosystem, among other technology and gaming groups dedicated to supporting local community of entrepreneurs and women in technology. Additionally, she is one of the lead organizers of Girl’s Geek Dinner in LA and also on the board of Advisers to The LOFT Institute program to minority students who want to create a video game for social change and Caltech Entrepreneurs Forum.
She was named by Forbes Magazine as a Female Founder to Watch in 2012 and 2013. In June of 2014, she received the Outstanding Woman in Science & Technology Award by 25th Senate District of Senator Carol Liu.
